FAQs

Get answers to the most common
questions about Plutus.

What is Plutus?

Plutus is a personal finance app that brings all your accounts, budgets, and transactions into one place. Connect your banks, track your net worth, set budgets, and build lasting financial habits — all from a single dashboard.

How does Plutus work?

Connect your bank accounts via Plaid and Plutus automatically syncs your balances and transactions. From there you can categorise spending, set budgets, create rules to automate your workflow, and track your net worth over time.

Who is Plutus for?

Anyone who wants to feel in control of their money — whether you're budgeting for the first time, tracking investments, or managing household finances with a partner. Plutus is built for individuals, couples, and families.

What makes Plutus different from other finance apps?

Plutus combines automatic bank syncing with powerful manual tools — CSV imports, custom categories, transaction rules, and multi-currency support. It's designed to be flexible enough for how you actually manage your money, not how an app thinks you should.

Is my data safe with Plutus?

Your data is protected with 256-bit encryption in transit and at rest. We use read-only bank connections and never store your banking passwords. No ads, no data selling, no third-party tracking.

Is a credit card required to sign up?

Yes — a credit card is required to start your 30-day free trial. You won't be charged during the trial period, and you can cancel anytime before it ends. After the trial, your chosen plan is billed automatically.

Which countries does bank syncing work in?

Bank syncing is powered by Plaid and currently supports thousands of institutions across the UK, US, Canada, and Europe. For anything that doesn't sync — property, cash, pensions, or accounts in other regions — you can add manual accounts and import transactions via CSV.

Does Plutus support multiple currencies?

You can select any currency for your accounts. Multi-currency support within a single household is on our roadmap — for now, each account uses the currency you choose when you set it up.

Can I share with my partner or family?

Yes — with household sharing on the Premium plan, you can invite your partner or family members to view and manage your finances together at no extra cost.

What happens if I cancel?

You can cancel anytime from your billing settings. If you cancel during your free trial, you won't be charged at all. If you cancel after your trial, you'll keep full access until the end of your current billing period. Either way, your data stays safe — nothing is deleted. You can resubscribe whenever you're ready and everything will be right where you left it.
